The School of Distance Education (SDE) of Bharathiar University was established during the academic year 1991-1992. All the courses offered by SDE are approved by the University Grants Commission, Distance Education Council (UGC-DEC), and then the Distance Education Bureau (UGC-DEB), under the Ministry of Human Resources Development, Government of India. Bharathiar University Distance education is strictly adhering the UGC-DEB regulations as and when amended in the Gazette of the Government of India.

Nowadays, distance education plays a vital role for the communities that strive to pursue higher education. The School of Distance Education of Bharathiar University has been providing HE via ODL mode for the past three decades.

In this context, the SDE of Bharathiar University launches online degree programs by providing quality education as per the UGC-DEB regulations, from the academic year 2022-2023.

Bharathiar University Distance Education Admission

Online Admissions for the academic session to the following programs provided by the School of Distance Education through Distance Mode will be opened soon. The last date for the registration for January 2023 admission is 31-03-2023.

Applications are issued and filled-in applications are received around the year. The downloaded softcopy of applications is also accepted. The enrolment is a rapidly ongoing process throughout the year.

• Calendar year batch: Spot admission done from 1st Dec to 30th April / Filled in applications received.
• Academic year batch: Spot admission done from 1st May to 30th November / Filled applications received.

Candidates have to submit a fully filled-in application form with all necessary enclosures and fees in person (or) send the same by post to "The Director, School of Distance Education, Bharathiar University, Coimbatore - 641 046 (or) "The Co-ordinator of any Spot Admission cum Learning Centres / Information cum Spot Admission Centers.

• A Demand Draft / Bank of India Challan
• Attested Photocopies of certificates about the qualifying examination passed
• A recent passport-size photo pasted on the first page of the application form
• Foreign University Graduates have to obtain an equivalent certificate from the Association of Indian Universities

• Attested copy of passport
• Authentication letter from the Embassy to this University

On verification of the candidate's eligibility for admission, the candidates will be intimated about the provisional selection. The provisional admission intimation letter shall indicate:

The amount of fees payable by the candidate and the payment schedule.

The list of original documents is to be submitted for verification and return.

The enrolment letter confirming the admission will be sent to you after checking all the documents. All original certificates will be returned immediately after screening. Students admitted at the Spot Admission cum Learning / Information Centres can also submit the original certificates through the centers, which will be returned after due verification by the University officers to the centers concerned / students.

Only a graduation degree in any discipline is required for most of the specialization courses in the field of MBA. Some specializations may have a special requirement and for the same, you can get in touch with the University officials directly.
